Sol Ye

Sol Ye is an independent producer dedicated to bring the most original, boundary-pushing Asian stories to the global audience. Her most recent documentary feature THE LAST YEAR OF DARKNESS, which explores underground partying and alternative youth in China, has won the Special Mention at the 20th CPH:DOX. It was also selected by IDFA and will be streaming exclusively on MUBI in 2024. Sol’s past works have won awards at Cannes Critics' Week (SHE R...UNS) and BFI London Film Festival (I HAVE NO LEGS, AND I MUST RUN). With a special focus on cross-cultural collaborations, she associate-produced the first China-Serbia co-production and worked on Disney's MULAN as the Assistant Production Manager. Sol also provides production service for films, documentaries and branded content both locally and internationally, and for platforms such as Tencent and Netflix. She is currently developing and producing short narrative films and theatrical features with emerging young directors.
